Setup FedEx For Lead Commerce

If you have any problems with your FedEx setup, please contact FedEx directly.

Create A FedEx Account

  1. Visit FedEx and click on your country.
  2. Click on Register Now.
  3. Click on Open a FedEx Account.
  4. Fill out the form with your own data and your own login information to access FedEx in the future. On the bottom of the page, make sure you have Open a FedEx Account selected.

IMPORTANT: During your setup, please make a note of your account number. Also, please keep record of your billing information as this will need to be re-entered later exactly the same as you do on this step.

Retrieve your FedEx Credentials

  1. Visit the FedEx Developer center at http://www.fedex.com/developer.
  2. Click on Register Now.

  3. Fill out the form and complete the registration.
  4. Once the registration is complete, navigate back to http://www.fedex.com/developer.
  5. Click on FedEx Web Services and then click Move to Production.
  6. At this point, you will be able to get the Production Key.
  7. Fill out the form including your account number and this will give you your Authentication Number and Meter Number. The Meter Number will be emailed to you by FedEx. However, your authentication number will not. PLEASE COPY YOUR AUTHENTICATION NUMBER before proceeding.

  8. Check your email and it will contain the following:
    • Production Password (this is not your password you created)
    • Meter Number
    • FedEx Account Number

  9. With this information, we now have enough to configure Lead Commerce. Navigate to Sales -> Configuration -> Shipping Providers -> FedEx.

  1. Fill out the API Section with the appropriate data. Please Note: The password field on this page is the password that was emailed to you by FedEx when they sent the meter number.
  2. Pick your Drop-Off Type and change your Account Type to Production.
  3. Enjoy using FedEx Live Rates and Shipping Labels. Make sure to visit your sales channels to make sure FedEx is enabled for the channels of your choosing.
